URGENT!!!!

Race Night:

Details:

  • Friday 19th March in Singer (1980) Bowling Club.
  • Doors open at 7pm, first race at 7.30pm
  • Disco follows the races and there will be other games, prizes etc.
  • Tickets are £5 and can only be bought in advance from group leaders. We can accommodate 100 people so first come, first served!

Jockeys and Horses!
We would like each pupil to buy a jockey! Each jockey costs £5 and this could perhaps be something the pupils buy from their pocket money. If their jockey wins their race then the pupils will receive a prize the following week at school. We will also be selling the horses for £5 with prizes if the horse wins. If you’d like a horse please again buy these in advance from staff. All jockeys and horses are already named.

Raffle
We will be having a raffle on the night. If you could donate a prize please hand it into any of the group leaders.

Sponsorship
We are seeking sponsorship for the eight races from local businesses. We are looking for £50 a race. In return, each business will be advertised on the night and also on the school website. If you have any contacts that would be willing to sponsor a race (or indeed the night) please get in touch.

Football Cards:

The £20 from football cards is now due. Please hand this in as soon as possible.

More fundraising???

The race night and bag packing are likely to be the last major events that we organise. If you want to bring the cost of the trip down further then we need YOU to arrange events! Can you arrange something? We can help but please get in touch...

About the trip:

The trip we are planning is a sport based excursion to Madrid for 40 pupils. On the trip pupils will be coached in football and fitness as well as being further educated in healthy eating by Atletico Madrid Football Club. This five day visit will also include meeting with children from the local area and sightseeing.

There are many benefits from arranging trips like this. From a teaching point of view we hope that each pupil will benefit greatly in what they learn both in sport and from the cultural aspect of the trip. Additionally, with all the fundraising events, we want to involve the local community and consequently strengthen links between the community and the school.

Obviously an excursion like this is very expensive with travel and accommodation costs and our pupils have already been working hard selling raffle tickets and arranging events to raise money. This includes arranging quiz and race nights, bag packing and many other events to keep the costs as low as possible.
